The burdens we carry in life can be overwhelming. However, the heaviest burden is usually the burden of our own sin. At least that’s the way it was for me. But there is a solution. You can have a personal relationship with God and also know that your sins are forgiven and that you have a home in Heaven. It isn’t complicated.
It’s as easy as A, B, C!		  
 
 
 

Admit that you are a sinner and turn away from your sin.

  • “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
          Romans 3:23
     

  • “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”
         Acts 3:19

“Repent” literally means “a change of mind that results in a change of action.” To repent simply means you realize and agree with God that you are a sinner. The resulting “change in action” is your turning away from sin and toward the God who can change your life.

  
 
 
  Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins to give you eternal life and that He rose from the grave so that you could go to Heaven.
  • “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
     Romans 6:23
     
  • “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
         Romans 5:8
     
  • “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
         Romans 10:9
  
 
 
  Call on the Lord through prayer for salvation. Come to Him by faith.
  • “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
         John 14:6
     
  • “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
         Romans 10:3
  
 
 
  You can pray right where you are to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. Prayer is simply you talking with God. There aren’t any magic words or special formula, and you can pray from your heart and in your own words. If you’re still not sure how or what to pray, you can pray something like the following:  
 

Dear God,
 I know that I’m a sinner, and my sin has separated me from You. I believe you sent Christ to be the payment for my sin and to die in my place. I want to receive Him now as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for forgiving my sins and making me Your own child. Now please help me to live for You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  
 
 
  If you prayed that prayer or one like it, you can be assured that you have eternal life and a personal relationship with God.
  • "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" Ephesians 2:8
     
  • “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…”
     1 John 5:13
